Only Daughter

Reading this story was interesting because I am a Mexican girl myself. In the story she talks about her father always saying he has seven sons but, really he has 6 sons and 1 daughter. How ironic she did not blame her father for saying that but, she felt as if she was being erased. She felt lonely because of all the time she spent alone. So, because of that she had time to think and think alot. When she was in the 5th grade she would tell her father about her plans for college and her father would say "Que bueno, mi'ja" that is good. After, 10 years gone by; the last year was good for her. She wrote professionally, and she was rewarded. Honorly rewarded for her writing like, National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. Well, one day her father had read a copy of her writing. He loved it.
